How can a Secondary School Student get a Free Eye Test?

All secondary school students can avail of a free eye test at Stephen Olwell Opticians. Just let us know at the time of booking what year your child is currently in and we will arrange the rest.

How can I avail of an eye exam using my medical card?

Call in to us to pick up a form for your free Medical Card Eye examination. We can help you to fill out the form which must be sent to your local Health Centre for approval. It will be returned to you with an authorisation for your eye test. Then you can come in to us and we will test your eyes for free.

Can I get free glasses with my medical card?

Yes, you can get free spectacles from a selected range with your medical card. Or you can use your form as a voucher to get a discount on any other spectacles that we carry instore.

How can I avail of a test using PRSI?

Just call us with your PPS number and we’ll check if you are eligible for an eye exam on your PRSI. If booking an appointment online, just write your date of birth and PPS number in the ‘message’ box.

Can I get free glasses with my PRSI?

Yes, you can get free glasses from a selected range with your PRSI, or you can upgrade to any other spectacles that we carry instore. You simply pay the difference.
