Stephen Olwell Opticians opened in Longford in 2009. Pairing niche eyewear with ZEISS lens technology, we strive to give you the very best of eyewear, and promise to never stop improving your wardrobe and your vision.
From a hand curated selection of glasses brought from: Paris, London, Barcelona, California, Denmark and Hawaii, we know we can find your own unique style.

Stephen Olwell
Originally from Bailieborough in Cavan, Stephen completed his Optometry degree in DIT in 2004 and was awarded Fellowship of the Association of Optometrists of Ireland in the same year. Since then he has worked in a variety of settings including private surgery, multiple and independent opticians. He opened Stephen Olwell Opticians in 2009.
Stephen continuously seeks to update his knowledge and regularly attends conferences and seminars and subscribes to optometry journals to keep up with the latest developments in eyecare.
Outside of work, Stephen lives for music and is generally seen bedecked in headphones, listening to a varied range of sounds, from contemporary classical to extreme metal.
Marie Gavin
Hailing from Galway City, Marie started work with Stephen Olwell Opticians in 2016, bringing with her a wealth of experience, having worked in optics since 2010.
She is a qualified Eyewear Stylist, holds a certificate in Optical Support from The Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers, and in 2022 gained her degree in Optical Dispensing from Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge.
Marie spends her time outside of work clocking up the kilometres on forest paths and trails in the company of her beloved setter Luna.
Hollie Robinson
Longford native Hollie joined the Stephen Olwell Opticians team in 2022, to compliment our eyewear styling service.
She is a qualified Beauty Therapist and Eyewear Stylist and knows just how to make you look good in glasses. Hollie lives and breathes style and with her, you are in safe hands, whether you want to make a statement or just enhance what you’ve got.
Hollie loves music, especially live music, and outside of work she spends her time attending as many concerts and festivals as she can.
